lulu // aspects of a femme fatale
lulu // aspects of a femme fatale
a performance experiment conducted over 7 productions bythe red light districtin residence at buddies in bad times theatre.
from 2014-2018 I was a core collaborator in theatre maker ted witzel’s collective deconstruction one of western drama’s most provocative and problematic figures—frank wedekind’s LULU. i had the pleasure of writing for the project, and fluidly shape shifting roles at times directing, performing, designing, film-making, and washing stage blood off large plastic tarps in - 30 degree weather in my underwear. this project took me to berlin, to london, to the underworld, and into a lot of dark rooms with a red wig on.
lulu takes place somewhere between sex and death--pleasure and consequence--your place or mine...
